Field Technician

Generator Source has a current opening for a Level I Industrial Generator Field Technician.

Generator Source, located in Brighton, Colorado, has been in the power generation industry for over 40 years. Our focus is on low-hour industrial diesel and natural gas generators ranging from 20 kW to 2000 kw. We service all brands of generators including Cummins, Caterpillar, Kohler, Generac, MTU, and more.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure equipment reliability by performing inspections, executing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting deficiencies, and maintaining detailed records.
• Assess equipment condition through diagnostic tests, identifying worn or damaged parts, and resolving mechanical and electrical issues.
• Follow preventive maintenance schedules, install component upgrades, address equipment deficiencies, and document time spent per task.
• Diagnose and repair issues identified during testing, ensuring operational readiness.
• Perform routine servicing, including filter changes and standard maintenance on generator units.
• Collaborate with Service Coordinators to provide updates on project progress, time estimates, and resource needs.
• Take on additional tasks as needed to support team and operational goals.

Job Requirements/Skills:

• Basic to intermediate experience with industrial generators, engines, and electrical systems required.
• Familiarity with diesel engine technology and large commercial/industrial diesel engines strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
• Skilled at estimating task durations and managing time effectively.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently or under supervision.

SHOP HOURS: 7:00a.m. to 4:00p.m.

COMPENSATION: Competitive - Based on Experience
