Overview
The Behavior Treatment Technician at Genesee Community Services in homes is to provide tailored support to individuals with behavioral challenges, helping them develop skills to lead more independent and fulfilling lives while also supporting their families or caregivers. Under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) the Behavior Treatment Technician implements behavior intervention plans and provides direct support to clients, contributing to their overall progress and well-being.
Key Responsibilities for a Behavior Technician
- Direct Client Support: Provide one-on-one support to clients during therapy sessions, helping them develop adaptive behaviors and skills.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Accurately record and track client behavior and progress during therapy sessions, ensuring data integrity for analysis by the supervising BCBA.
- Behavioral Observation: Observe client behavior closely, identifying triggers and patterns to inform treatment strategies.
- Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs): Execute strategies outlined in BIPs designed by the supervising BCBA to address behavioral goals and objectives.
- Communication: Maintain open communication with supervisors, team members, and caregivers regarding client progress, concerns, and any relevant information.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges preferred
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in helping individuals with special needs achieve their full potential.
- Reliable Transportation, Valid Driver's License, and Proof of Auto Insurance
