- Collect, interpret, and utilize student attendance data to develop strategies addressing truancy prevention.
- Facilitate one-on-one and small group sessions focused on academic, behavioral, and attendance strategies.
- Collaborate with PBIS teams, behavior specialists, and other student support personnel to address alternative educational opportunities within the school’s MTSS plan.
- Build and maintain a collaborative network of school-based service support staff, including behavior specialists, family engagement facilitators, teachers, and other personnel.
- Assist in researching, designing, and implementing programs to prevent misbehavior.
- Support school teams in providing a positive, supportive climate that encourages student accountability.
- Monitor student progress in academics, attendance, and behavior.
- Establish rapport and foster respect with students, families, and staff to promote success.
- Regularly communicate with parents to build cooperative relationships and support student needs.
- Maintain positive, cooperative relationships with administrators, instructional staff, students, parents, and community resource representatives.
- Recommend necessary supplies and equipment for behavior and attendance initiatives and assist with procurement following established procedures.

Job Summary: The Student Success Coordinator (SSC) supports, coordinates, and implements the district’s attendance and behavior initiatives. Working collaboratively with administrators, teachers, and support staff, the coordinator provides targeted support in areas such as school readiness, goal setting and monitoring, peer leadership, conflict resolution, parent involvement, and Student Assistance Team planning. Key responsibilities include assisting school teams with behavior intervention plans, executing de-escalation strategies, and fostering proactive coping tools among students to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.Genesee Intermediate
The ideal candidate is highly motivated, flexible, patient, and skilled at handling stressful situations while building positive relationships with students, families, and staff.

Education:
High School graduate and 30 college credits preferred
Experience:
Experience working in an educational agency or youth community program preferred.
Skills/Other:
Must hold a Michigan’s driver’s license, exhibit an interest and enthusiasm for working with youth, peers, community, and administration staff, and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills. Punctuality and good attendance are requirements for the position. Demonstrated mental/physical ability and stamina for meeting the essential duties of the position and the ability to travel to and from the intermediate school district, the constituent school districts, and homes in the assigned geographical areas.
Ability to work a flexible workday, work week, and work year. Always represents the district in a professional manner. Works successfully as a member of the team. Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism at all times. Ability to exercise good judgment, and make decisions in accordance with board policies, and established administrative guidelines.
Experience using database software. Ability to utilize district technology, and work to maintain proficiency, as required skill sets change with technology and/or the needs of the district. Knowledge of local, state, and national educational neglect and truancy models desirable.
