What are the responsibilities and job description for the ESOL Teacher position at Geneseo Central School?
Geneseo Central School is accepting applications for a district wide ESOL Teacher. We are seeking a dynamic team player who is willing to work collaboratively with our staff and provide services for the benefit of educating our students. This will be a 10-month position which follows the school instructional calendar. Extended School Year opportunities are potentially available.
Interviews will begin upon receipt of applications. The anticipated start date is ASAP.
- Demonstrate knowledge of second language acquisition, linguistics, and content being taught to English Language Learners,
- Sensitivity to cross-cultural aspects of teaching and learning.
- Collaborate with content area teachers and communicate with a myriad of other school personnel.
- Communicate with parents/guardians concerning student's program and progress
- Maintain professional learning opportunities for you and our families of students as well to develop strong school to home relationships.
- Provide English as a Second Language instruction to assigned students to ensure their development of English language skills.
Job Qualifications
Valid Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) certification
