Position Title: Environmental Engineer
Location: Green River, WY
Key Responsibilities:
Acquire site specific knowledge of applicable environmental regulations
Regulatory compliance oversight (air, water, land, wildlife, waste, toxics, DOT)
Regulatory notification, reporting, and permitting
Environmental plan preparation, maintenance and Execution
Environmental sampling, testing, and data analysis
Environmental and safety audits
Activities:
Interact with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies
Provide business support and guidance on environmental compliance requirements and methods to resolve environmental issues, where appropriate
Prepare regulatory reports for air quality permits, waterfowl permits, mining permits, UIC permits, TSCA, RCRA and others as needed
Develop and apply for regulatory permits under the guidance of the environmental engineering coordinator
Work with environmental staff to prepare permits for the Westvaco and Granger facilities
Review and approve chemical applications permits
Design environmental data collection systems for reporting and compliance monitoring
Complete regular environmental key performance reports
Conduct ambient air, point source, groundwater, soil, waste, and other sampling activities as needed.
Obtain and maintain required and appropriate certifications (e.g., opacity, asbestos, DOT, REM, CHMM)
Monitor hazardous and non-hazardous waste generation rates and arrange hazardous waste shipments
Participate in the waterfowl program
Maintain environmental records
Investigate and report environmental incidents, and recommend mitigation
Participate in on-call duty rotation
Provide support for capital projects
Participate in ISO 9001 management system activities
Assist with Sustainability metrics and reporting
Perform safety and environmental audits
Skill, Capability and Educational Requirements:
B.S. in Engineering with environmental emphasis, OR
B.S. in Environmental Management, OR
B.S. in Engineering or Physical Sciences plus relevant environmental experience.
Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
This position progresses along the Technical Professional Career Program (technical ladder).
Final determination on pay will be made by Human Resources and company leadership considering the candidate’s education, experience, past performance, demonstrated leadership, and influence.
