Genesis Fund is a student-run venture fund investing in the best Boston student founders. Hailing from Harvard, MIT, BU, Northeastern & Babson, we’re comprised of campus leaders who are extremely well connected within each school’s startup ecosystem. To support our efforts, we are seeking talented and driven students to join our team as Analysts (Undergraduate) and Associates (Graduate). This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in venture capital, develop critical skills, and work closely with some of the most innovative student founders in Boston.
The role
We’re looking for undergraduates (Analyst) and graduates (Associate) to assist us in deal execution, sourcing and brand building.
Requirements
- Current undergraduate, graduate, PhD or MBA at a recognized University in the Boston metropolitan area.
Responsibilities
- Organizational processes: assist in the maintenance of information coming in through from founder discussions, partnerships and LPs.
- Deal sourcing: create a network of founders at your respective university, pitching potential deals to Partners on a weekly basis.
- Startup evaluation: create digestible and efficient summaries about potential investments.
- Conduct market research and due diligence.
- (Associates only) Mentor Analysts: Become a mentor to younger analysts, teaching them about a specific industry you’re an expert in, or about VC.
- (Associates only) Collaborate on investment strategies: Maintain relationships with partnered VCs and collaborate with Partners about fund strategy & growth.
Interview process
Round 1: Behavioral interview with 1-2 partners (30mins)
Round 2: Case interview/practical task (30mins)
