Genesis Health Clubs is looking for a Director of accounting who would love to work in a fast-paced corporate accounting office. This full-time staff accountanting manager will be responsible for cash mgmt., monthly G / L entry and reconciliations, as well as P&L analysis. This role will report directly to the CFO.
Directors of accounting must possess strong communication, organizational, technology and leadership skills. Candidates should have at least 10 years of experience, including previous management responsibility. They also should have comprehensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Public accounting experience is an advantage.
We expect a minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting but generally prefer applicants who also have earned a master's degree in business administration (MBA) or certification such as certified public accountant (CPA) or certified management accountant (CMA).
Typical duties include :
- Developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures
- Planning, organizing and coordinating the year-end close process with internal and external auditors
- Preparing monthly financial statements, including cash flow statements
- Hiring, training and retaining competent accounting staff
- Auditing and ensuring entries are complete and accurate for month-end closing
Compensation : $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
