Shift/Company:
6 a.m. – 2 p.m., Monday – Friday
Job Summary:
The Automation Technician will assist in site automation working with the operations, engineering, and maintenance department. This position will require direct technical support of automation systems and projects.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Manage the commissioning and qualification process for automation systems as well as develop and ensure compliance with established local quality standards
- Assist in developing and maintaining an automation plan and processes
- Ensure function is aligned and driven to meet engineering goals, in partnership with the leadership goals to deliver operational functions
- Function as a team player for exclusive process automation system
- Interface with suppliers, and appropriate organizational staff on automation issues
- Own and manage site procedures and technical standards for the automation function
- Resolve relatively complex problems independently
- Builds relationships with leadership team and production employees to enhance customer experience and quality of final product
- All other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong technical knowledge, analytical expertise, and attention to detail
- Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to properly manage time and projects
- Passion for innovative solutions and process improvement
- Comfort working in a fast paced and ever-changing business environment
Education and Experience:
- 2-year associates degree in Electro-mechanical or similar field
- Experience interfacing automation and robotics with various types of equipment.
- Aptitude to troubleshoot existing processes and systems
- Minimum of two years’ experience in PLC’s, robotic programming, and systems integration
- Advanced computer skills in MS Office and the aptitude to quickly learn other software and technology necessary to be effective
- Experience with GMPs, ISO 9001 and ISO 13485
- Experience within the plastics and injection molding industries is preferred
- Experience with Six Sigma, Lean etc. in a production environment is preferred
- Experience with Vision Inspection Systems is preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to participate in activities requiring extended time spent in any area of the facility including the ability to lift, climb, kneel and stand.
- Requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
