Through innovative programs that build a collaborative and supportive ecosystem, Genesis provides hands-on learning experiences designed to empower individuals with the knowledge and tools to address real-world challenges and make meaningful contributions to their communities. Our volunteer Board of Directors, composed of individuals who live and work in Southeastern Indiana, ensures our efforts are impactful and tailored to meet local needs. Over the past 18 years, Genesis has proudly leveraged over $5.5 million into education and community development through grants, sponsorships, and in-kind contributions. Genesis’ work is centered around three key service areas: 1) Career Development, 2) Youth Education, and 3) Entrepreneurship.
Position Summary: The Educational Program Coordinator is a full-time position that supports and advances the mission of Genesis: Pathways to Success by fostering educational relationships with the region’s public, private, and 1 vocational schools and expanding STREAM educational experiential learning opportunities in Southeastern Indiana. STREAM educational opportunities are defined as programs related to Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art, and/or Mathematics and are developed to fill gaps/needs as identified by the region’s educators. This position will lead the development and implementation of high-quality STREAM educational programs, including but not limited to:
- A Summer of STREAM
- Kids Riding Bikes
- Rube Goldberg Machine Contest
- VEX V5 Robotics
The position of Educational Program Coordinator will offer operational support to the Executive Director, and may also take on other duties regularly associated with office management, including filing, creating memos/reports, answering the phone, and performing other clerical duties.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree, ideally in Business, Communications, Education, Event Planning, or a related field.
- Proven experience in project and program management, with a track record of successfully developing, executing, and delivering programs or events from inception to completion within established timelines.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, while maintaining a keen attention to detail.
- Strong decision-making capabilities, demonstrating confidence and sound judgment when faced with complex challenges, while always prioritizing the best interests of the program audience and the organization.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships across all levels of an organization and with diverse audiences, especially students.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information and engage with various stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently, while also fostering teamwork and collaboration when needed.
- Prior experience preferred with a range of software applications (preferred but not required), including Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides), Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere), and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
