What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Services Operator position at Genesis Prime Care?
Serves as initial contact for all callers. Receives and relays incoming telephone calls for the assigned area/clinic. Provides directory information and transfers calls as appropriate. Provides additional clerical support as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Answers, screens, and directs calls on multi-line phone system in a courteous and professional manner; takes messages and/or forwards telephone calls to appropriate employee, voice mail, or pager.
- Clears messages each morning and delivers to appropriate employees.
- Determines caller needs and directs them to the appropriate employee/locations.
- Responds to callers, clients, and employees in a courteous and professional manner.
- Composes and types routine correspondence as required.
- Performs general clerical duties including but not limited to filing, photocopying, faxing, and mailing as required.
- Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or GED

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient on the computer program(s) required for position.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions

Special Requirements
Requires sitting for extensive periods of time. Requires ability to work under stressful conditions or working irregular hours. Requires frequent exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, toxic substances, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to work with a moderate noise level in the work environment is required.
