The Medical Oncologist uses chemotherapy and other medications to treat cancer patients.
What you’ll do :
- Meets with patients to determine diagnosis, stage of cancer, various treatment options and assist with palliative options to ensure comfort of patient.
- Explain cancer development stages to patients, discuss treatment options and assist in pain management.
- Recommends and orders tests to determine extent of illness or help diagnose condition.
- Coordinate treatment plans with other physicians to ensure cohesion of care.
- Prescribe various types of treatment including chemotherapy and immunotherapy.
- Responsible for dictation, writing prescription, monitoring treatment plans, etc.
- Ability to lead physician office staff for purposes of planning and accomplishing goals.
