We are seeking a Full Time Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Jefferson County Jail in Monticello, Florida.

About this position:
The Licensed Practical Nurse provides medical care for detainees in a correctional setting, administering routine and emergency care, treating acute and chronic illnesses, and injuries.
Requirements:
- Graduation from a nationally accredited licensed practical nursing program
Certifications:
- Current LPN licensure in the state of employment or ability to obtain license
- Current Basic Life Support
Job Type: Full Time
- Correctional nursing experience preferred but not required
- Ability to obtain a security clearance, including a drug screen and criminal background check
Available shift:
- 6A-6P - Day Shift
- PRN Availability
General Duties:
- Provide patient treatments such as blood pressure checks, glucose monitoring, weight checks, nebulizer treatments, etc., as ordered by a licensed medical provider.
- Ensure all referrals for consultation, treatment, or resolution of problems are valid and applicable to the documented nursing plans.
- Administer ordered medications to inmates as ordered by a licensed medical provider and approved by the medical director, and document administration as required by GENESYS Health Alliance policy/procedure.
- Carries out nursing care plans on inmates as prescribed or directed by ALP, Physician, and/or RN.
- Ensure security of area and medications while administration is occurring; as well as keeping safety top priority.
- Complete initial and ongoing screening on detained individuals upon admission into a correctional setting.
- Explain procedures and treatment protocols to patients.

- Overtime
- $1000 Sign on Bonus - Applies only to Full Time employees
