Montessori Preschool Assistant Teacher Mornings

Reports to: Montessori Director

School Year: Part-Time | $15.00/hr. or relevant experience
Location: Lake Geneva | Montessori School - 8:30AM-1PM

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the supervision and guidance of the Montessori Director, the After Care Staff is responsible for the supervision of children in our Montessori after care program. This is a school-year position requiring approximately 20 hours per week depending on your position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Minimum age of 18 years old.
• Have a sincere interest and ability to comprehend the needs of children to develop positive outcomes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must complete four Presidium Child Abuse Courses before the start date.
• CPR certification within 60 days of hire.
• Completion of Abusive Head Trauma Prevention course.
• Must pass FBI Fingerprint Background Check before the start date.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Able to be active and work with children from 2 to 5 years old in a fast-paced environment.
• Serve as a role model to staff and participants.
• Engage children in meaningful learning opportunities.
• Communicate with parents with professionalism and respect.
• Follow school emergency procedures to ensure the safety of all children.
• Communicate with the Director regarding any emergency concerns or situations.
• Maintain a clean and well-organized work and program space at all times.
• Perform other duties as deemed necessary.
• Uphold and exemplify the policies and guidelines of the Geneva Lakes Family YMCA and the Lake Geneva Montessori School at all times.
