ABOUT THE JOB:
This position involves the selling and promotion of precast concrete products to owners, consulting engineers, agencies, municipalities, developers, and contractors primarily within the State of Utah.
- Maintains relations with identified key contractors, consulting engineers and project owners in an assigned territory.
- Assists efforts of Marketing team to ensure that our competitive position is sustained or improved.
- Makes regular, in person, sales calls to customers identifying new projects opportunities and furthers Geneva Pipe and Precast’s position in the marketplace.
- Makes routine visits to job sites to discuss progression and upcoming needs of customer.
- Provide management with timely and accurate reports as required.
- Participate in industry trade and technical activities
- Develops an understanding of the marketplace and industry trends
- Develops an understanding of City and DOT specifications in regards to Precast Concrete
- Completes quotes, submittals, emails and other necessary paperwork as needed.
- Works closely with a designated Project Coordinator to properly manage the open jobs and to ensure the demands of the owners are being met.
- Maintains project information in a timely manner within a designated Google Drive system
- Regular, reliable and predictable attendance is necessary in order to perform the essential functions of this position.
JOB SCOPE:
- This position involves selling and promotions of Geneva Pipe & Precast products to owners, engineers, and contractors.
- Responsible for the accuracy of own quotes/estimates.
- Responsible for the timely completion of own quotes/estimates.
- Responsible to track upcoming bidding opportunities.
- Participate in weekly sales meeting
INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS:
- Interacts with plant management and marketing, operations, sales representatives and Sales Manager on a daily basis to effectively bid projects.
- Communicates with material suppliers and company purchasing group to obtain product quotes that conform to industry standards and project specifications.
- Interacts with design engineers, municipalities and/or owners during the design, bidding and completion of projects.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, including proficiency in business correspondence and spelling/grammar.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Listens and gets clarification.
- Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Must work and communicate well with peers, and other plant personnel.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products used by the company.
- Must have a basic understanding of civil engineering and surveying terms and methods.
- Must be strong in math skills
- Must possess a strong work ethic as well as strong organizational and time management skills.

- Ability to comfortably discuss precast concrete products with design engineers
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Four-year undergraduate degree preferred.
- Or minimum of 2 years’ experience in concrete related field.
- Past experience in project management / coordination, estimating, plan and specification review, general or civil construction, product development, lead or management skills, is not necessary but helpful.
- Prior manufacturing experience helpful.
