Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Traffic Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of traffic around construction sites and roadwork areas. The Traffic Controller will work closely with heavy equipment operators and other team members to maintain safety protocols while facilitating smooth operations.
Duties
- Direct traffic flow around construction sites, ensuring the safety of workers and the public.
- Communicate effectively with team members and equipment operators to coordinate activities.
- Monitor and manage the positioning of signs, cones, and barriers to guide vehicles safely.
- Assist in the operation of heavy machinery as needed, including bulldozers, backhoes, loaders, and dump trucks.
- Conduct utility locating to prevent damage to underground services during excavation.
- Perform paving tasks as required, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to all safety regulations.
Skills
- Proficient in heavy equipment operation, including bulldoze, backhoe, loader, front loader truck, and dump truck.
- Familiarity with grader operation is a plus.
- Strong understanding of utility locating procedures.
- Ability to effectively communicate with team members and manage traffic flow efficiently.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
- Experience operating Caterpillar machinery is desirable but not mandatory.
