Job Overview
Genius Christian Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Daycare Teacher to join our team of educators in a Christ-centered learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, a nurturing spirit, and a genuine love for working with young children—from infants to preschool age. In this role, you will create a safe, engaging, and spiritually enriching environment that supports each child's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with early childhood education best practices and promote holistic development.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom environment conducive to exploration, creativity, and growth.
• Provide attentive care to infants and toddlers, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the day.
• Facilitate play-based learning experiences that support developmental milestones and foster a love for learning.
• Observe, assess, and document each child’s progress, adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
• Promote positive behavior and effective classroom management to maintain a nurturing learning atmosphere.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's daily activities, progress, and developmental goals.
• Collaborate with fellow staff members to support a cohesive and mission-aligned educational experience.

Primary Qualifications

• Completion of 30–40 hours of training through the Department of Children and Families (DCF) is required.
• CPR and First Aid Certification required (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of employment).
• Demonstrates strong reliability, dependability, and personal integrity.
• A personal relationship with Jesus Christ, reflected through a willingness to integrate Christian values into daily teaching and classroom interactions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working in early childhood education or childcare settings.
• Experience with preschool-aged children and/or children with disabilities is highly valued.
• Solid understanding of child development theories and early learning standards.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with parents, colleagues, and the wider community.
• Relevant certifications or formal education in early childhood education or related fields are advantageous.
