Job Title : Cybersecurity Engineer

Location : Austin, TX (Hybrid - must already reside in the Austin, TX area)

Position Type : 12-18 month Contract

Our client is a leader in government security, dedicated to delivering cutting-edge solutions and exceptional service to their customers. We are seeking a skilled and proactive Cybersecurity Engineer to join this elite team. In this role, you will be responsible for safeguarding the organization's IT infrastructure and data from security threats. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain security solutions that protect their systems and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CISM, CISA) are a plus.
• 8 years of experience in cybersecurity or a related field, with a strong understanding of security technologies and best practices.
• Experience with cloud security (e.g., AWS, Azure) and emerging technologies.
• Familiarity with regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS) and NIST cybersecurity framework.
• Proficiency in security tools (e.g., SIEM, IDS / IPS), firewalls, VPNs, and vulnerability management.
• Knowledge of operating systems, network protocols, and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex security issues and develop effective solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing security risks.
