About the job Experience:
· Must have knowledge of one-line diagrams and electrical construction
· Must have experience performing take-offs and creating bid proposals from scratch
Roles & Responsibilities:
· Attend pre bid job walks and provide notes/photos
· Send drawings and spec details to vendors for quoting materials and sub-contractors Have the willingness to multitask all job duties daily
· Assist estimating team with reviewing bid specifications and providing detailed notes
· Create new-opportunity estimates, including bid board updating, pre-bid meeting attendance, specification review, RFI creation, vendor quote request, proposal package creation, DBE (diversity) coordination, Addendum research and updates, final pricing/qualification creation, post-bid meeting attendance as required to support contract award and project management.
· Create estimates for current project change orders/revisions as necessary to support project managers.
· Provide detailed project take-offs, material lists, subcontractor lists, project issues/opportunities to project management staff.
· Post-bid organization (communication/document filing), follow-up, updating results, and hand-off/contract review when applicable.
· Enter project plans into PDF sharing software with notes as necessary for seamless transition.
· Post-mortem job reviews including detailed reporting to management, and updating assembly productions/make-ups in estimating software.
· Estimating software updates including database modifications, task/assembly updates, labor/equipment updates.
· Creating a clean database to allow for quick/efficient/accurate bids to be created.
· Updating material pricing based on commodity changes and industry trends.
· Facilitate/train proper adoption of estimating practices throughout company divisions, and any future divisions.
· Estimating volume forecasting, including tracking of estimates created/won/lost, revenue correlations, trends, etc.
· Business development including bid research, increasing bid opportunity, and new customer acquisition.
· Existing customer relationship bolstering through recurring contacts, event opportunities, meetings, etc.
· Weekly meetings to present agenda, timeline, capacity, etc. to management and the estimating coordinator.
· Yearly training to remain current on industry trends and work-function advantages/efficiencies.
· Rolling-out updated specifications, standard details, and contract requirements to estimating software and project management staff.
· Supplemental tasks and duties as necessary to facilitate overall corporate operations, goals, and obligations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
