What are the responsibilities and job description for the Design Resource Librarian position at Gensler?
Your Role
The Design Resource Librarian is responsible for assisting in managing and directing the daily operations of the Miami Office Resource Center, while providing reference, research, education and instructional services to its own staff.
This involves the researching formation on architecture and interior design trends, products, materials, publications, periodicals; for procuring, updating and filing of reference and sample materials. We provide our employees with the resources, tools, and applications that help them save time while enhancing and stimulating their professional interest.
The qualified candidate will have knowledge of and experience using a variety of internal and external research and product resources to seek out future trends, review new products and innovations, and to host learning events.
What You Will Do
- Assist design staff with research projects using in-house library, outside libraries, product research
- Knowledge of and experience using a variety of internal and external research and product resources to seek out future trends, review new products and innovations
- Organize, bookcases with catalogs and keep the catalogs and samples current
- Meet with vendors
- Assist with vendor presentations
- Assist with the Coordination of Furniture and Flooring displays
- Filling all returned samples
- Coordinate with outside industry for sample donations
Your Qualifications
- Degree in Interior Design or enrolled in ID program
- Excellent research and industry trend analysis experience
- Computer literate, Internet research capabilities, and cataloguing skills
- Possess strong vendor relationships and contacts within the architectural and design industry
- Proficient in Photoshop, Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Sketch-up and AutoCAD
