IMPACT and OPPORTUNITY
Gentherm recently launched WellSense; a software-defined consumer experience portfolio that promotes health and well-being in the vehicle using our thermal and pneumatic products. We are looking for a technician who can work with a cross-functional team to develop prototype products that will be part of our product development cycles.
As a Co-Op, you will have an opportunity to learn from talented engineers on the process of bringing innovative ideas into a prototype environment to product launch. This is a highly hands-on role and attention to detail is required.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Build automotive thermal and pneumatic prototypes to be used by engineers for research and product development iterations.
- Help create relevant health and wellness feature Intellectual property/patents
- Support the development and Implementation of new prototyping techniques and tools
- Support the development and implementation of new cabin health and wellness related testing and data collection methods and tools
- Ensure functional and safe prototypes through testing and experimentation.
- Work with the team to provide systems design, build, and test support to advanced development team members.
- Work in close collaboration with stakeholders including our Thermophysiology, System, and Software teams to develop best/standard practices.
- Identify unachievable project timelines from design phase through production and service.
- Attend, support and participate in engineering development meetings with the customer and team.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Studying for a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, electrical engineering, electrical engineering technology, or studying at an Automotive Trade School
- Experience with mechanical assembly methods and wiring
- Strong communication skills and an aptitude for working within a team
- Eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of thermal and mechanical comfort test methods including heat flux, temperature, air flow measurements.
- Hands on prototyping experience including ultrasonic welding, automotive electrical wiring, 3d printing, power and air tools including but not limited to drills, grinders, and bandsaws
- Experience in CAD, Test Data Analysis
- Familiarity with Automotive Communication Protocols (LIN/CAN
