ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned.
- Oversees the preparation of the annual budget and continually monitors its implementation and controls cash flow.
- Lead the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, ACH, Wire Transfer, General Ledger, and other traditional accounting functions.
- Oversees long-range financial planning, including analyzing information and developing solutions to improve daily operations.
- Oversee the receipt and disbursement of district funds, including the transfer of funds from taxing authorities to the district.
- Prepares district financial reports in accordance with district and state requirements and reports monthly to the Board of Education.
- Invest funds as appropriate.
- Prepares documents and information related to school millage elections, bonding and other financial issues and meets all continuing disclosure requirements for bond issues.
- Oversees the administration of the employee benefits program, payroll, and accounts payable.
- Provides financial information as requested by the Board of Education, staff, patrons, or community.
- Supervises bid law compliance, procedures, and documentation.
- Manages district's errors and omissions insurance programs.
- Supervises the school district mail service.
- Serves as district treasurer and general business manager, in accordance with state law.
- Communicates regularly with various internal and external publics to develop and maintain a positive school/community relationship.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, or accounting preferred; five years related experience. E-finance experience preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
AASBO Certification or must attain it within 3 years. Attending meetings and conferences to stay current on the information. CASBO certifications.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
General technology skills. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in a specific field. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the school community. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
