What are the responsibilities and job description for the Store Counter Sales position at Genuine Parts Company?
We are more than a parts store, seeking talented individuals to join our NAPA family. As a Counter Sales representative, you are the face of the retail store, providing automotive solutions for customers. While technical expertise is beneficial, it's not necessary; however, having a background in automotive parts is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Provide auto parts advice and solutions for retail and wholesale customers
- Assist team members with customer inquiries
- Offer exceptional customer service and interactions
- Maintain a customer-focused approach in fast-paced stores
- Welcome customers, engage, and provide a positive experience
- Utilize technology, including computers, cash registers, telephones, and paper catalog systems

- You have experience in the automotive industry or have gained knowledge through tinkering with/repairing cars and trucks

Requirements:
- Valid Driver's License
- Previous experience in a parts store or automotive industry, or willingness to learn
- High School Diploma or GED, with technical or trade school courses or degrees
- Excellent communication skills
- Prioritize fast-paced retail environments
- Effective listening skills and empathy for customers
Preferred qualifications:
- Background or passion for the automotive industry, heavy equipment, farm industry, diesel, marine, or dealership
- Experience in parts stores, auctions, retail stores, auto body/collision
- Familiarity with cataloging and/or inventory management systems
- Customer-centric attitude (external/internal)
- ASE Certifications
