We are looking for a motivated individual to join our sales team.
Salesperson duties and responsibilities
Salespeople are responsible for making customers feel welcome and supported through the car-purchasing process. The responsibilities of a car salesperson will vary , but usually include the following tasks:
- Greet customers arriving at the dealership
- Showcase the dealership’s vehicles and explain their features and warranties to customers
- Answer customer questions about cars, financing and purchase process
- Accompany customers on test drives, collecting licenses and documentation beforehand per best practices
- Negotiate car prices and trade-in values for customers’ vehicles
- Coordinate with the finance department to determine each customer’s financing and ownership options
- Complete paperwork and documentation for car sales transactions
- Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to finance and insurance
- Collaborate with the sales team to meet monthly sales targets
- Stay updated on industry trends, new car models, and competitor offerings
Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills to manage customer inquiries, appointments, and follow-ups
- Proven track record in automotive sales or a related field
- Previous experience in automotive finance and insurance (F&I) preferred
- Excellent communication with customers
- Ability to cold call potential customers and generate leads
- Basic retail math skills for pricing calculations and financing options
- Knowledge of financing options, credit applications, and lending institutions preferred
- Knowledge of inventory control procedures to track available cars
- Proficient in basic math for calculating discounts, interest rates, and monthly payments
- Familiarity with the local market and customer preferences in car purchases
- Proficiency with relevant computer software and technology
- Valid driver's license
