Job Overview
We are seeking a customer-focused Field Sales Engineer to support our sales team in designing and delivering customized telecommunications solutions. This role requires a strong foundation in telecommunications, including experience working with telco providers. Knowledge of fixed wireless technologies, radio systems, and network infrastructure is highly recommended but not mandatory.
As a Sales Engineer, you will bridge technical expertise and sales strategy, guiding prospective clients through the technical aspects of our services to ensure their needs are effectively addressed and aligned with our solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Support
Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer goals, requirements, and technical challenges.
Provide technical expertise to align our offerings with customer business objectives.
Solution Design
Develop tailored telecommunications solutions that meet customer needs while considering technical, budgetary, and timeline constraints.
Create solution diagrams and technical documentation to communicate proposed designs effectively.
Product Demonstrations
Lead engaging product demos, technical presentations, and webinars to showcase the value of our telecommunications solutions.
Address customer technical inquiries and align solutions with their use cases.
Proposal Development
Assist in creating technical proposals, including network maps, VPN/WAN designs, and sales presentations, to clearly articulate solution value.
Customer Consultation
Act as a trusted technical advisor, addressing customer concerns and ensuring they understand our services' capabilities and benefits.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with engineering, operations, and support teams to ensure seamless execution of proposed solutions.
Provide valuable market feedback to product teams to enhance offerings.
Market Feedback
Share insights gained from customer interactions to refine sales strategies and improve product offerings.
Customer Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, positioning yourself as an expert in telecommunications and ensuring high customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory with equivalent experience.
Experience
3-5 years of experience in sales engineering, telecommunications, or a technical role in the telco industry.
Proven experience working with telecommunications providers or telco partners.
Knowledge & Skills
Solid understanding of telecommunications concepts, including broadband, internet services, and networking basics.
Familiarity with network maps, VPN/WAN, fixed wireless technologies, radio systems, or network infrastructure is highly recommended.
Ability to translate customer requirements into effective technical solutions.
Proficient with GIS systems, spatial file manipulation, creating maps and diagrams.
Experience with and strong knowledge of wireless networks.
Communication Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Sales Acumen
Strong ability to support sales initiatives by aligning customer needs with our technical solutions.
Problem-Solving
Analytical and creative problem-solving skills with a focus on customer-centric solutions.
Travel
A willingness to travel for customer meetings, site visits, and trade shows as required.
