George Fox University - Staff and Administrator
Newberg, OR Full Time
POSTED ON 1/25/2025
AVAILABLE BEFORE 1/31/2025

George Fox University's College of Business is seeking a passionate and visionary individual to join their team and play a pivotal role in advancing the mission of the Certified Financial Planning (CFP) program as the Financial Planning Program Development Manager.

About the Job:

Launched seven years ago under the leadership of Dr. Ryan Halley, the CFP program was founded with a bold vision to train the next generation of "financial pastors" and establish itself as the premier CFP program for traditional college students globally. The program has achieved remarkable milestones, including strong alumni support, industry recognition, significant financial gifts, and a growing endowment.

Despite these accomplishments, there is still much to achieve. The Development Manager will lead strategic initiatives to enhance student experiences, foster industry partnerships, and develop innovative recruitment strategies. This position offers an opportunity to shape the future of the CFP program, mentoring students and collaborating with faculty, staff, and external partners to create transformational learning and career opportunities. Join us in advancing this mission and becoming a core part of the program's continued success!

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading the development and implementation of unique academic experiences for students, including organizing their participation in industry conferences, recruitment events, and leadership initiatives, to prepare them for successful internships and careers in a dynamic and engaging environment.
  • Directing the mentoring programs to guide students throughout their academic journey, ensuring they gain practical experiences, complete multiple internships, and secure full-time positions with top fee-only financial planning firms across the United States.
  • Overseeing and leading the management of strategic partnerships with financial services firms, ensuring effective coordination of grants, budgets, and events while representing the program to key stakeholders to strengthen industry relationships.
  • Developing and directing recruiting strategies aimed at attracting top students globally to the CFP program, collaborating with university teams to achieve ambitious enrollment and growth objectives.
  • Leading and modeling effective communication with students, employees, and the public, fostering a culture of teamwork, respect, and exemplary customer service.
  • Performing and directing other duties as necessary to advance the mission of the CFP program and the university.
  • Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.
  • By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated experience working cross culturally with respect, appreciation and humility.
  • Other duties as assigned.

A Day in the Life of This Position:

As the Financial Planning Program Development Manager, your day is dynamic and purpose-driven. You may start the morning mentoring a group of students, guiding them on internship opportunities and career pathways in the financial planning industry. Midday might find you collaborating with faculty, College of Business leadership, or external partners to strengthen relationships and plan impactful events. In the afternoon, you could be working on recruiting strategies to attract top students globally or managing partnerships with leading financial firms to secure grants and enhance program visibility. Throughout the day, you embody servant leadership, modeling Christian values in your interactions with students, faculty, and stakeholders, while balancing project management tasks that advance the mission of training the next generation of "financial pastors." Each day is an opportunity to contribute to a program poised for national and global impact.
