POSITION SUMMARY
The Masking Associate will perform the duties of masking and unmasking of product that are to be finished by painting and/or plating as determined by a print, work traveler and work instructions provided with product.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Masking Operations: Perform masking operations using various masking materials such as tape, plugs, or other methods to protect designated areas from surface treatment processes like painting, coating, or chemical treatments.
- Unmasking Operations: Remove masking materials after surface treatment processes have been completed, ensuring that all masking residues are properly removed and the finished components meet quality standards.
- Surface Preparation: Prepare components for masking operations by cleaning, degreasing, and inspecting surfaces to ensure proper adhesion and coverage of masking materials.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct visual inspections of masked and unmasked components to verify adherence to masking specifications, ensuring that critical surfaces are adequately protected and finished components meet quality requirements.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of masking and unmasking activities, including work orders, inspection reports, and material usage logs, to facilitate traceability and quality control processes.
- Provide value to our customers by using lean tools and concepts to identify and eliminate waste in all forms (scrap/rework, transportation, motion, waiting, inventory, over production, over processing, and under-utilization of people). Uses systemic thinking by seeing processes from end to end and works to challenge the status quo to eliminate the root cause of problems. Is involved individual and/or team activities that involve using lean tools and concepts to improve the flow of information and material.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Must be able to lift 10-20 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds periodically.
· Must be able to sit or stand for up to 8 hours.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
· High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or training in aerospace manufacturing processes is preferred.
· Previous experience in masking and unmasking operations within the aerospace or manufacturing industry is advantageous.
· Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity, with the ability to work meticulously and accurately to achieve precise masking results.
· Knowledge of masking materials, techniques, and best practices for aerospace applications.
· Familiarity with aerospace quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
· Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and work instructions related to masking operations.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet production deadlines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
