Small Tools Mechanic
Reports to: Small Tools Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Hours: 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (One-hour lunch) unless otherwise dictated; 40-45 hours per week, overtime
and some Saturdays are expected.
General Overview: Assist Field Services, Tool Mechanics and Lead Tool Mechanic with repairs, maintenance and inventory or tools and equipment entering and leaving Igel yard on a daily basis. Oversee all yard activity and keep yard safe and organized. The person will consistently demonstrate the company’s core values: Integrity, Gratitude, Excellence and Leadership.
Responsibilities
- Assists in loading and unloading shipments and deliveries in a safe, timely manner;
- Keeps all items in Igel’s Small Tool Department stored and marked in an orderly fashion for accurately tracking and efficient locating;
- Maintains an accurate and legible log of the Small Tool activity in/out inventory and of basic items in Field Supply to increase effectiveness and efficiency, including warehouse and yard inventory and small equipment in/out log with employee name and job number;
- Learns and applies maintenance techniques to keep all items handled by Small Tool Department in safe, operating condition;
- Performs morning routine checks of “After Hours Grey Shed” and “Yard Return Area”;
- Repairs small engines by servicing, overhauling and troubleshooting;
- Orders parts for repairs;
- Operates forklift for safe transporting, loading, and unloading material;
- Stores supplies as needed;
- Fills material orders as indicated by requests made via the phone or “in-house” request;
- Delivers and collects materials as needed;
- Clears snow from Igel yard and sidewalks as needed;
- “Igelizes” new items in inventory by issuing and placing an Igel number on each item;
- Maintains a presentable Igel yard by removing trash and organizing pallets;
- Communicates professionally with team members and clients;
- Takes a solution-focused approach to routine challenges;
- Knows and adheres to company policies and procedures;
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must maintain an MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) that meets the Company’s eligibility requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
- This position is primarily in person, with no remote work capabilities.
