About the Department :
The College of Public Health at George Mason University comprises four academic units in addition to Social Work : Global and Community Health; Health Administration and Policy; Nursing; and Nutrition and Food Studies, fielding a variety of graduate and undergraduate programs (BS through PhD). About the Position :
Term research faculty will support research and development activities in the project that aims at developing artificial intelligence-based platform and mobile application to support analysis of injuries for victims of violence. The term faculty will be closely working with the PIs and independently completing their own portions of work. The term faculty researcher will be part of a larger team aiming at developing software and a mobile platform that utilizes deep learning to analyze images of bruises.
An ideal candidate can work across several areas of the project : clinical, engineering and informatics.
Responsibilities :
- Responsible for developing components of the project platform or deep learning application;
- Supervises a team of graduate students and programmers, and monitors the work of external contractors;
- Performs some managerial responsibilities for the project; and
- Writes manuscripts.
