The mission of the school of nursing is to champion health and well-being through the power of nursing education, discovery and practice.
Chief Purpose of this position:
This is a Term Research
Faculty position in the School of Nursing. The faculty member will develop and
maintain a funded research program that is independent and/or supportive of new
and existing research in the school. The role will include grant writing and
imparting knowledge to others for grant writing, research development, and
research implementation.
Position Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates knowledge and expertise in designated
areas of research.
- Obtains or maintains grant funding for independent and
collaborative research
- Facilitates research and evaluation processes in
designated projects.
- Assists the Office of Research in research development
activities for faculty and students.
- Disseminates knowledge and research findings through
articles, papers, monographs, protocols, book chapters, or other similar
means.
- Presents clinical papers, programs and/ or continuing
educational offerings in area of expertise.
- Actively participates in the transmission of knowledge
and skills in area of expertise to students and faculty and the community.
Required Qualifications:
- Hold a research PhD or equivalent degree
- Exceptional research writing skills
- Grant writing experience
- Teaching or research development experience
- Proficient knowledge of research implementation and
regulatory compliance
- Previous project management experience
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a
diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as
a faculty member at VCU
Preferred Qualifications:
- Evidence of previous grant funding success
- Proficiency with research implementation tools (e.g. REDcap, Smartsheets, Open Science Framework)
