OBJECTIVE:
A Testing Coordinator’s primary purpose is to coordinate the state (TAKS, STAAR, TELPAS), national (PSAT, SAT, ACT, AP, IB), local benchmarking assessments, and other district-wide assessments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Know, interpret, and carry out rules and regulations relating to the Texas state assessment program.
- Attend testing coordinator training provided by the Educational Service Center, the Texas Education Agency (TEA), and other relevant entities.
- Train campus personnel, including administrators, diagnosticians, counselors, and teachers, to implement the state and local assessment program.
- Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of testing materials and student performance results.
- Investigate, document, and report testing irregularities.
- Coordinate all aspects of campus test planning and administration by providing training, ordering, distributing, collecting, and shipping testing materials, and maintaining an accurate inventory of materials received and distributed.
- Monitor campus compliance with assessment-related individual accountability systems such as the Student Success Initiative (SSI), Individual Graduation Committee (IGC), and individual Graduation Reviews (IGR).
- Maintain the accuracy of student testing records in online state assessment systems.
- Communicate effectively with campus and central office staff.
- Demonstrate skill in word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and other basic office productivity software.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of IDEA and Section 504 federal law.

EXPERIENCE:
- At least three years of minimum teaching experience, campus and/or district administrative experience preferred.
- Experience with test coordination at the campus and/or district level preferred.
