Essential Functions Greets patients and visitors. Answers, screens, and routes telephone calls. Places orders, coordinates aspects of care with other departments, calls codes, and pages as requested. Accurately schedules surgery cases and maintains an up to date surgery schedule. Enters nursing requests subject to the approval of a licensed nurse. Asks for clarification when necessary. Assists to coordinate patient flow within the department. Serves as a resource to other departments to ensure surgical and endoscopy patient flow. Assembles and maintains patient records and charts. Performs needed clerical tasks, including copying, filing, and ordering / stocking supplies. Assists RNs and physicians with other patient activities as needed.
Qualifications
Job Requirements Minimum EducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent Preferred Associate’s Degree Preferred Required SkillsCertifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
