LOCATION: Georgetown School District
SUPERVISOR: Superintendent
ANNUAL SALARY: Negotiable
START DATE: start of the 2025/2026 School Year (July 2025)
WORK YEAR: 12 Month Employee
JOB DESCRIPTION
This individual will work under the supervision of the director of the superintendent.
Coordinate all aspects of special education programming in accordance with State and Federal laws
Supervise all out-of-district placements
Develop annual Special Education Budget
Recommend hiring of Special Education personnel
Coordinate/Chair Team meetings as required
Ensure process and procedure compliance with staff
IDEAL CANDIDATE:
The ideal candidate should:
Be energetic, motivated individual to work with collaboratively with administration, staff, students & parents.
Be able to plan, develop and coordinate special needs services and programs.
Be able to facilitate planning and development of additional or alternative services for students in need.
Be able to provide professional development for administrators and educators across the district.
Assist the district with the adherence to all federal and state laws pertaining to student services.
Provide supervision and evaluations for Special Education Staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working with students to improve their social and emotional health in a public school.
Experience working with students with disabilities.
Proficient with ESPED and IEP writing
Professional understanding of individual student learning styles.
Ability to successfully collaborate with colleagues.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to facilitate teams; ability to work well with administration, teachers, students, parents, and community Members
Ability to manage crisis situations in a public school setting.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Master’s Degree.
MADESE certification as a Special Education Director, All Levels
MADESE Supervisor/Director, All Levels certification
SEI Endorsement.
Previous Special Education administration and teaching experience required
