Summary of the Job :
The House Manager serves as lead staff on shift and is responsible for the supervision of youth care workers on shift and coordinates the schedules of youth care workers. The House Manager should be committed to Sanctuary practice utilizing tools that reinforce our shared language to create a trauma-responsive culture.
Minimum requirements :
At least 21 years of age.
A high school diploma or GED; Three years direct service experience with children and families and one-year supervisory experience or Associates / bachelor's degree or higher in a behavioral or social science field with one-year supervisory experience.
Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
Have the physical ability, energy, flexibility, and maturity to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job to include performance of Emergency Safety Interventions including physical control positions.
Establish positive relationships with clients and others.
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to follow structured routines.
Develop and utilize appropriate childcare skills.
Able to show proof of required vaccinations / immunizations.
Primary Responsibilities :
Creates schedule for Youth Care Workers
Maintain supervision of youth at all times.
Daily documentation and documentation of appointments and crisis interventions per program procedures.
Visibly monitor sleeping clients and document per program procedures.
Lead the clients in establishing ways of living together and managing their daily productive lives per individual service plan.
Develop and lead group meetings daily and / or as needed.
Respond appropriately to crisis situations intervening early enough to prevent physical altercation between residents using de-escalation techniques.
Follow agency procedure to report all crises to the on-call supervisor, Program Director, and Quality Compliance Specialist.
Transport clients as assigned.
Participates in multidisciplinary team meetings.
Provide life skills groups including appropriate social interactions as part of behavior motivation planning.
Utilize personal safety plan for managing emotions and interactions with staff and clients.
Provide a safe, caring, and nurturing environment for youth in the program.
Demonstrate leadership, develop teamwork and function as a contributing member of the team.
Provide orientation for new staff to the cottage environment and ensure 40-hour shadowing is scheduled and completed.
Provide on-the-job training and supervision for youth care workers to include weekly team meetings.
Give input to staff performance appraisals.
Ensure program staff achieves required training hours.
