Job Summary
The Department of Mathematics at Georgia College & State University invites applications for a Limited Term Lecturer position. This is a ten-month limited term academic year appointment that carries a teaching load of 5 courses per semester. This position carries a non-tenure-track status. This position will instruct academic courses and support the department, college and university goals by supporting the academic environment to benefit the educational mission of the University. The faculty employee is expected to contribute to the department's educational mission. Faculty will be expected to instruct our students in the respective disciplines at the undergraduate level.
The faculty employee is expected to have:
- an understanding of the principles associated with teaching and learning
- strong communication skills.

Responsibilities
Teaching Responsibilities
- Full-time instructional load teaching (5 courses per semester) in areas of expertise within the academic discipline
- Regular course meetings and instruction
- Mentoring Students
- Other teaching responsibilities
Knowledge and ability to convey current philosophies, practices, and theories related to the academic discipline.
Faculty - Professional Development -
Limited term faculty are expected to stay current in their field.
Faculty - Service to Institution -
All faculty are expected to help the department in recruiting majors. Faculty members are expected to attend Department meetings and events.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
A minimum of a Master's Degree in mathematics or closely-related field (e.g., mathematics education or statistics) with at least 18 semester hours of graduate-level coursework in mathematics is required.
Must meet SACSCOC accreditation requirements stated in C.S. 3.7.1 (www.sacscoc.org (faculty credentials))
Preferred Qualifications
- a Ph.D. in mathematics or in a closely related field
- at least two years of higher education teaching experience
- evidence of methodological innovation and creative teaching strategies
