The Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) is one of Georgia's four health agencies serving the state's growing population of over 10 million people. DCH serves as the lead agency for Medicaid, oversees the State Health Benefit Plan (SHBP) and Healthcare Facility Regulation, impacting one in four Georgians.

Six enterprise offices support the work of the agency’s three program divisions. DCH employees are based in Atlanta, Cordele and across the state.

The Solution Architect is a key liaison between business units and implementation teams, ensuring that technical solutions align with business goals. This role requires a background in software development, experience in gathering complex project requirements, and a proven ability to design and implement effective solutions.
Collaborate with business units to understand their needs, goals, and challenges.
Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather input from stakeholders
Create architecture diagrams, documentation, and roadmaps to communicate the solution.
Leverage and contribute to open-source solutions to improve the systems processes of the agency.
Design comprehensive solutions that align with business objectives and technical feasibility ensuring solutions consider scalability, security, and maintainability.
Design and develop in-house solutions for projects deemed suitable for internal implementation, leveraging existing team capabilities and resources.
Act as the primary liaison between business units, vendors, and implementation teams.
Conduct technical reviews during implementation to ensure the solution aligns with the design specifications.
Monitor progress, troubleshoot issues, and adjust plans as necessary to ensure successful implementation.
Foster strong working relationships with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and accessible manner.
Advocate for best practices in development and solution architecture.
Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, and methodologies.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field AND Five years of related experience, Two years of which in a supervisory or lead role OR Associate's/Vocational/Technical degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Seven years of related experience, Two years of which in a supervisory or lead role OR One year of experience at the lower level Systems Analyst 4 (ITP023) or position equivalent.
Note: An equivalent combination of education and job specific experience that provided the knowledge, experience and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis.
