Job Title: Wellness Coach II Job Grade: 8
FLSA Status: Part-time Non-Exempt
Reports to: Wellness Director, Executive Director Revision Date: 08/02/2016 _________________________________________________________________________
Position Summary:
Works directly with member services staff and other Wellness staff to engage and retain members, specifically health seekers.
Essential Functions:
- Improves the health and well-being of the community the YMCA serves.
- Works to ensure member safety and enjoyment.
- Engages members by encouraging member interaction.
- Providing hands-on wellness services including orientations, fitness assessments, personal training, post-rehabilitation and adaptive wellness.
- Develops small-group interaction through planned and spontaneous programming.
- Leads and develops member programs such as fitness challenges.
- Ensures the cleanliness of facilities and equipment.
- Minimum 50% personal training, group ex, EBHI, or Youth Dance work load is required
- Actively participates in the YMCA annual fundraising campaign.

Qualifications:
- Experience designing and implementing wellness programs for individuals or groups required.
- Bilingual preferred
- Personal Training certification preferred from approved YMCA list; required within 90 days of employment.
- Required certifications: CPR, First Aid, AED
- Nationally recognized accredited personal training certification from approved YMCA list upon hire.
- YMCA Healthy Lifestyle Principals certification within 60 days of hire (available through Leadership University).
- Wellness 101 within 60 days of hire (available through Leadership University).
- Daxko training within 60 days (available through Leadership University).
Physical Demands:
- Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction).
- Acceptable hearing (with or without correction).
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
