This position will interact regularly with faculty, staff, students, researchers, vendors, and contractors. This position typically will advise and counsel : faculty, staff, students, researchers, vendors, and contractors. This position will supervise : NA.
Job Duties
- Perform basic design and installation of laboratory equipment and processes
- Review and provide input to engineering plans and specifications for laboratory equipment or processes.
- Perform basic troubleshooting associated with laboratory equipment or processes; may involve calibration and repair work.
- Prepare drawings, schematic diagrams and related documentation associated with laboratory equipment or processes.
- Monitor expenses incurred; prepare related reports.
Required Qualifications
SKILLS : This job requires professional-level knowledge and skills in the application of fabrication processes and equipment engineering principles, processes, and practices. Skills in the application of regulations, codes, and safety practices associated with research laboratory conditions, as is the use of office and engineering / technical related computer applications, databases, and systems.

Responsibilities
Perform basic design and installation of laboratory equipment and processes.
The basic Fabrication stage involves running baseline introductory recipes for structures and films essential for various applications. This includes thin film deposition processes, where material layers are applied to a substrate to create specific properties; optical photolithography, which involves using light to transfer patterns onto a surface; and basic wet chemical etching, a method that removes material to shape features on a substrate. These processes provide the groundwork for further fabrication techniques and ensure a solid understanding of fundamental.
Review and provide input to engineering plans and specifications for laboratory equipment or processes.
Perform basic troubleshooting associated with laboratory equipment or processes; may involve calibration and repair work.
Prepare drawings, schematic diagrams and related documentation associated with laboratory equipment or processes.
Monitor expenses incurred; prepare related reports.
Interact with vendors regarding procurement and delivery issues.
Perform other duties as assigned
