Department Information

Georgia Tech Human Resources (GTHR) serves the Institute and its more than 14,000 employees through strategic counsel, employee engagement, and essential human capital management operations. As the people's unit, GTHR is engaged throughout the employee's lifetime at Georgia Tech. Our team works with sensitive employee information and assists in the management of complex employee issues. Professionalism and confidence are of the utmost importance within our team.

  • Process payroll and maintain employment data for approximately 14,000 active faculty, staff, and students
  • Strive to attract, recruit, and retain the best talent in the marketplace.
  • Provide immigration, labor, and tax support required for foreign national faculty and staff to work at Georgia Tech and support employees performing services overseas.
  • Leverage a market-driven compensation structure to attract and retain employees.
  • Advise employees and managers regarding work performance and conflict management.

Job Summary

The Sr. Manager of Enterprise Resource Project and Process oversees and manages complex projects and processes across multiple business units. This role involves strategic planning, resource allocation, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects within scope, time, and budget constraints. This position will lead the implementation of the Workday HR solution from Oracle PeopleSoft for Georgia Tech Human Resources as part of the University System of Georgia (USG) Unified Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) project. Facilitate the monitoring, analysis, and change management of critical Human Resources business processes to ensure alignment with project and Institute objectives. Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing employee performance, providing feedback, and making pay recommendations.

  • This position will regularly interact with Unit Leadership, staff, stakeholders, third-party vendors, and service providers.

  • Responsibilities

    Job Duty 1 -

    Responsible for implementing strategic initiatives and ensuring the efficient operation of enterprise resources and processes.

    Job Duty 2 -

    Project Management : Leads and manages a portfolio of complex projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives. Design, develop, and implement service delivery standards and metrics in alignment with governance policies and procedures around security access, segregation of duties, and process & system improvements.

    Job Duty 3 -

    Stakeholder Communication : Maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and issues. Provide liaison services between functional user and technical systems groups in developing or modifying typically complex information systems.

    Job Duty 4 -

    Process Improvement : Identify and implement process improvements to enhance organizational efficiency and effectiveness. Lead in defining user business requirements and ensuring they are appropriately addressed in application implementation. Participate in project design, development, and deployment to improve business process procedures as part of the overall ERP support model. Redefine business processes to maximize application usage as required. Participate in special projects to provide ERP and Enterprise Business Process perspective and lead discussions around definitions.

    Job Duty 5 -

    Resource Allocation : Effectively allocate resources, ensuring optimal utilization of personnel, budget, and technology. Supervise and coordinate with project management staff, analysts, and report writers to ensure business processes and project initiatives align with the project's overall strategy.

    Job Duty 6 -

    Risk Management : Proactively identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.

    Job Duty 7 -

    Performance Monitoring : Track project performance using appropriate tools and techniques, ensuring projects meet quality standards and deliverables.

    Job Duty 8 -

    Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications

    Educational Requirements

    Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Technology, or a related field.

    Required Experience

    Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in project management, with a focus on enterprise resource planning and process improvement.

    Prior supervisory experience.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Preferred Educational Qualifications

    Master's degree is preferred. Preferred skills include familiarity with the Higher Education environment and the commercial Enterprise Resource Planning system lifecycle.

    Preferred Experience

    Direct experience managing Workday implementations, especially for HCM, Financials, Payroll, or Recruiting modules. Certification(s) in Workday (e.g., Workday Project Manager or Workday Pro certification). Knowledge of Workday methodologies (e.g., Workday Delivery Assurance).

    Proposed Salary

    Pay Range : $109,136-$ 148,424 / year

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

    KNOWLEDGE

    Advanced technical knowledge and familiarity with human resource functions. Human resources information system management experience. Proven experience in working with data management. Familiar with the concepts of project management and business process management. This job requires demonstrated ability to plan and manage complex projects; effectively prioritize and deal with ambiguity; effectively solve problems and provide solutions to internal or external issues; translate the business imperatives into data; understand operational data issues and drive out root cause analysis; work autonomously with minimal direction; apply good meeting mechanics to facilitate productive meetings; strengthen and improve relationships with key stakeholders; and decipher and write basic business rules.

    SKILLS

    Excellent skills in action and perseverance; leadership, management and interpersonal relationships that promote collaboration and transparency across the organization as well as with stakeholders; collaborative style with an ability to negotiate and influence outcomes and drive change, both internally and externally; working with data management at an enterprise level; implementation and use of ERP tools to support business data objectives; presentation and communication, both written and verbal; finding, understanding, documenting, and improving data and establishing governance structures; and basic office applications, database technology or self-service business intelligence tools are also required.
