What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Technician position at Georgia Veterinary Dentistry & Oral Surgery?
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in dental and oral surgical procedures to animals
- Perform routine procedures blood draws and catheter placements
- Monitor and record vital signs of animals during procedures and treatments
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients
- Provide compassionate care and handle animals with patience and respect
Experience:
- Previous experience working as a veterinary technician is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of animal behavior, handling, and restraint techniques
- Familiarity with common veterinary medications and their administration routes
- Proficiency in performing laboratory tests such as bloodwork and urinalysis
- Ability to operate veterinary equipment and machinery effectively
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
