Overview
The Field Supervisor oversees up to 10 field staff, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency in daily operations, with responsibility for ensuring smooth and effective field operations. They are responsible for mentoring team members, monitoring field activities, maintaining client satisfaction, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and evaluate field staff.
- Maintain and provide projections for field costs and expenses.
- Prepare and submit quarterly reports on team performance and project status.
- Participate in monthly Field Meetings and bi-weekly check-ins with leadership.
- Support and promote collaboration among Field Mentors and field staff to improve performance and knowledge-sharing.
- Approve time for direct reports and review field staff time to identify actionable trends.
- Willing to travel as needed.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Coordinate daily operations, including task assignments and scheduling of field staff with the dispatch staff.
- Ensure fieldwork adheres to GES quality standards and safety protocols.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and address challenges.
- Communicate effectively with Northern Nevada Engineering Lead, Project Managers, clients, Reno Office Lead, and leadership.
- Interact with clients and contractors to identify problems and issues with field staff, project conditions, or other concerns, and develop a plan to resolve issues that arise.
- Assist in onboarding and training new hires.
- Provide mentorship to Field Mentors, guiding their development to ensure they effectively train and support field staff.
- Create new hire and current field staff training schedules for field staff success by coordinating training paths and tracking progress with assistance from the Field Services Coordinator and input from the Field Builder.
- Actively identify and cultivate new mentors, fostering a pipeline of capable leaders within the field team.
- Provide input on hiring needs.
- Provide input on resource sharing including equipment and staffing.
- Prepare and maintain quality standards with assistance from the Quality Control Specialist, and the Field Services Coordinator.
- Assist in preparing for and maintaining compliance with annual audit standards, actively addressing findings to ensure continuous improvement and adherence to regulations
Qualifications
- 5 to 10 years’ field experience in construction materials testing and inspection
- Certification in a minimum of 3 ICC certification
- ACI Field Grade 1
- Business development, estimating and proposal preparation experience
- Consulting background and attitude mandatory (i.e. awareness of budgets & customer service)
- Strong leadership skills
- Proficient computer skills in MS Office Suite
- Strong understanding of construction fieldwork and jurisdictional procedures
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to mentor and develop team members
