What are the responsibilities and job description for the Buyer position at Geotek LLC?
The Buyer is responsible for purchasing materials, equipment, supplies and services from suppliers. Must be able to effectively coordinate the delivery of all purchased products and components with manufacturing, sales, and engineering to ensure there is no interruption in the production schedule. As an integral teammate in our organization, you will be asked to work with all departments within the organization.
Position Schedule
Monday - Friday 8am-5pm
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review purchase requests and execute purchase orders with approved suppliers.
- Utilize MRP (NetSuite) to analyze inventory levels and upcoming demand to make strategic purchasing decisions.
- Verify that all purchase orders are acknowledged by the supplier.
- Monitor open order reports to ensure on time delivery of product.
- Monitor past due purchase order report for late deliveries.
- Request quotations for parts and services.
- Track and resolve supplier discrepancies.
- Work with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice issues.
- Identify and recommend potential cost saving opportunities.
- Work with the quality team and suppliers to manage nonconforming parts.
- Collaborate with other leaders within a team environment.
Basic Qualifications:
- BS Degree or 1-3 years purchasing experience.
- Knowledge of MRP systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
Preferred Abilities:
- High degree of self-responsibility and organizational skills.
- Analytical problem-solving capability.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Composite industry experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.
The compensation range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00. Final offers may vary based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The posted range represents the expected earning potential for this position within the current organizational budget and market conditions.
