Chemical Technician
Pay Rate : $20.00
Under direction of the Chemist, responsible for generating routine assay data at a laboratory in support of exploration, mining, leaching, SXEW process and cathode production.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Exhibit 100% dedication to safe work practices 100% of the time in the laboratory.
- Help ensure environmental compliance in the Laboratory.
- Be able to effectively multitask in a high- workload, fast-paced lab environment.
- Plan and control analytical work to effectively utilize resources with minimum or no direction.
- Effectively and efficiently manage and report data.
- Organize, weigh, digest, dilute, and assay blast hole samples as required for total copper determination.
- Identify parts, material, supplies and equipment required to ensure continuous operation.
- Assist as directed with analysis of blast hole samples for sequential acid soluble / cyanide soluble copper determination.
- Handle laboratory cleanup, and routine reagent preparation as needed / directed.
- Maintain required training in environmental, and health / safety awareness.
- Ensure all MSHA requirements are met and help review and update all laboratory safety procedures as required.
