What you will do:

As a Director – Energy Consulting, you will lead high-impact client engagements focused on optimizing energy sourcing strategies, reducing costs, and supporting sustainability initiatives. This is a leadership role requiring deep expertise in energy markets (electricity, natural gas, renewables), regulatory frameworks, and risk management, combined with strategic procurement consulting experience.

As a trusted advisor to Fortune 500 clients and public sector organizations, you will drive value by designing and delivering innovative energy procurement strategies, leading complex negotiations, and helping clients navigate an evolving energy landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Leadership:

    • Serve as a strategic advisor to clients on energy procurement and sustainability goals.

    • Lead cross-functional consulting teams in the delivery of energy sourcing and risk management projects.

    • Build and maintain executive-level client relationships to foster trust and long-term partnerships.

  • Strategic Energy Procurement:

    • Develop tailored sourcing strategies across electricity, natural gas, renewables, and emerging energy solutions.

    • Guide clients through competitive sourcing events, contract negotiations, and supplier relationship management.

    • Advise on renewable energy sourcing (RECs, PPAs, VPPA), carbon reduction strategies, and regulatory compliance.

  • Market & Risk Expertise:

    • Provide insights into global and regional energy markets, trends, and regulatory developments.

    • Support clients in developing and executing risk management strategies to mitigate price volatility.

  • Operational & Financial Impact:

    • Identify cost savings opportunities and operational improvements across the energy procurement value chain.

    • Support clients in establishing energy budgets, demand forecasting models, and performance tracking KPIs.

  • Thought Leadership & Team Development:

    • Represent the firm as a subject matter expert at industry events and in thought leadership publications.

    • Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a high-performance consulting culture.

What you should bring:

Qualifications

  • 12 years of experience in energy procurement, strategic sourcing, or energy advisory roles, with at least 3–5 years in a consulting leadership position.

  • Deep understanding of power & gas markets, renewable energy sourcing (PPAs, VPPA), and sustainability frameworks.

  • Proven success in leading large-scale sourcing projects, supplier negotiations, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and executive presentation skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

  • Experience working with utility companies, energy brokers, and independent power producers (IPPs).

  • Familiarity with energy management systems (EMS), e-sourcing tools, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., FERC, ERCOT, ISO/RTO markets).

  • Exposure to decarbonization, energy transition, and ESG consulting topics.
