EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL

The Franklin Public Schools, a Prek-12 district, is seeking a skilled and experienced special education support professional to work as an educational assistant at Parmenter Elementary School. The assistant will work in a model of service delivery offering academic support in the general education classrooms combined with specialized learning instruction for small groups and individuals. Students requiring assistance and support have mild to moderate disabilities. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Provide academic support in the general education classrooms combined with instruction for small groups and individuals Provide positive behavior supports and strategies for student Ensure safety of student during in class and out of the class time Monitor and coach student throughout the day and across environments Work with team to provide social and emotional support and intervention Work collaboratively with team of special education teachers and therapists to carry over skills Collect data Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in special education or related field preferred Experience in public school setting Experience working with children with disabilities Able to take initiative and work independently
