We have an immediate opening for a
Counselor (part-time, 16 hours per week)

We are looking for a counselor to support students in their social-emotional growth and guide students through identified struggles. A close and supportive collaboration with teachers, parents and our middle school counselor is essential.
Qualifications:
- Degree in School Counseling, School Psychology, Social Work or related fields.
- Experience working with children grades 1-12 in an international/multicultural population
- Adept ability to help students process their challenges, plan goals and action steps.
- Experience working with parents and teachers to discuss learning, behavioral, familial, and social situation
- Experience with counseling in small groups and/or facilitating SEL classes
- Experience implementing behavioral management techniques.
- Experience with crisis management
- Strong work ethic, ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team.
- Training and interest in looking through a social justice lens, with particular attention to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
- Willingness to be flexible and accept constructive feedback
- Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer
- German language skills a plus but not required
Essential functions:
- Support the students’ social-emotional well-being and mental health.
- Listen well to concerns about students’ academic, emotional or social challenges and successes
- Develop strategies and plans to address issues and guide students through them
- One-on–one counseling with students as needed, and work in small groups
- Counsel parents and faculty on topics relevant to their students’ needs
- Promote positive behaviors
Location: In person, Mountain View campus
Pay scale: $32,000-44,000 depending on experience
