Germanna Community College is a public, open access institution of higher education in the Virginia Community College System. The College is a dynamic learning organization that serves as a Germanna regional leader and preferred partner where quality learning experiences enable students to participate effectively in the social, economic, political, intellectual, and cultural life of their communities. Germanna Community College is centrally located in Fredericksburg, VA between Washington D.C. and Richmond and between the Blue Ridge mountains and the Chesapeake Bay. Germanna Community College is currently seeking a Director of Facilities. The Director of Facilities is responsible for managing all facets of maintenance and upkeep at the physical facilities of all the College’s campuses/centers. Serves as the institutional lead in facility planning, construction, renovation, parking and warehouse operations at the College. Directs all programs of buildings and plant maintenance repair, custodial services, grounds maintenance, skilled trade services, renovation projects, new construction, space planning and related contract administration. Provides technical advice, support and assistance to college officials. Ensures compliance with building code requirements and local, state and federal jurisdictional requirements related to physical sites and environmental affairs with an emphasis on safety and campus ascetics. Oversees the department’s budget and administrative functions. Position works closely with VCCS Facilities Management Services staff per VCCS Policy Manual. Performs other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Administrative Services

- Experience in leading, planning, developing and maintaining a large complex program of facilities maintenance and construction.
- Supervisory experience.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to utilize technology to improve processes.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and experience in meeting deadlines.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proficient in operating a computer using current Microsoft and/or other software packages.
- Commitment to working with diverse colleagues, students, and community members.
- Demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing equity, inclusion, and diversity.
- Experience with or willingness to learn artificial intelligence tools.
- Experience in engineering, building trades or related field.
- Experience with Commonwealth of Virginia policies and procedures pertaining to procurement and capital projects.

Salary : $103,932 - $130,731
