Overview
The General Manager will have the sole responsibility of overseeing the daily operations for The Germantown Inn, as well as providing strategic direction for the hotels management. These duties also include responsibilities for the generation of revenue in compliance with budgeted occupancy, room rates, events and retail sales. The General Manager's most important job is to make sure that all aspects of the guest's stay and experience are exceptional, as to enhance the guest dedication and expand our clientele by strengthening our reputation. It is important for the General Manager to be involved in all aspects of the Inn’s operations. They will be just as responsible for dealing with complaints as for strategizing and preparing reports. They will be the key person of reference for all guests, vendors, employees, and the hotels ownership. The General Manager will be a team player and an effective leader, expected to set examples and foster team cooperation.
Lastly, the General Manager will oversee all aspects of the hotels presence on social media platforms.

Operational

- Be available to answer calls after hours in the event of an emergency at the property Act as concierge for guests during their stay; restaurant suggestions, directions, transportation requests, retail sales, etc.
- Address any property/operational issues immediately ;maintenance problems, shortage of staff, equipment malfunctions, etc.
- Collaborate with vendors to ensure that all events are scheduled and staffed appropriately Inspect facilities daily to enforce strict compliance with health and safety standards as well as appearance of the interior and exterior grounds.
- Inventory management or all supplies necessary for operation
- Other responsibilities that ownership might require as needed to efficiently and effectively operate the Inn
- Assist in housekeeping duties when the need might arise ,i.e. housekeeping short of staff, quick turnaround of rooms, and general cleaning of common areas throughout the day as needed.
Sales and Marketing
- Achieving monthly top line revenue goals
- Proactively selling the hotel through face to face appointments with customers, tele prospecting, etc.
- Participates in sales blitzes and utilizes available business tools to prospect for new business
- Evaluates potential business opportunities for the hotel and presents findings as necessary to management
- Gains contacts and business intelligence through involvement in appropriate organizations
- Maintains awareness of the sales practices of the hotel’s competitive set and is a “product expert” when selling them
- Ensures that he/she adheres to all sales administrative processes that are in place including preparation and submission of reports or internal communications and meets deadlines
- Builds strong relationships and loyalty with top producing clients and maintains professional integrity
- Conduct site visits, outside sale calls, and entertainment as needed
- Perform weekly calls for existing and new accounts
- Participate in trade shows, conventions and promotional events within the hotel industry and customer organizations
- Achieve group room nights and revenue as outlined by our budget Service the groups booked by completing and distributing accurate reports to management
- Solicit and service groups, meetings and other business functions directly and jointly with others through the preparation, execution and completion of action plans Quote and negotiate prices with customer representatives, confirming reservations by letter and drawing up contracts; signing for the hotel and obtaining customer signatures to close the transaction
- Upon closing, coordinate and follow up to ensure guest satisfaction Compile and input market intelligence information to the CRM systems and maintain accurate records within CRM
- Monitor production of all top accounts and evaluate trends within our market Meet or exceed sales solicitation call goals as assigned by ownership. Invite clients and prospects to the hotel for entertainment, lunches, tours and site inspections
- Oversee and develop either internal or through outsourced relationships a comprehensive social media platform strategy ensuring regular postings of quality content
- Develop event sales strategy that aligns with monthly budgeted revenue goals that doesn’t disrupt daily operations
