What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cold End Maintenance Journeyman position at Gerresheimer?
Reports to Cold End Maintenance Supervisor; performs repairs and maintenance duties as assigned in the Cold End, and Process areas. Must have successfully completed an accredited apprenticeship program.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists in setting up a variety of inspection and packaging equipment during job changes.
- Responsible for staging, cleaning and repairing all job change parts prior to job change.
- Responsible for documentation for work performed during job change (e.g., job change history sheet and job change checklist).
- Troubleshoots all equipment that is not running properly.
- Conducts periodic inspections of cold end equipment and takes corrective action when necessary.
- Assists in preventive maintenance programs during and after job changes.
- Will take machine histories, set-ups and create a database for PM’s.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be willing and able to work rotating shifts.
- Will be required to undertake further education to increase knowledge base.
- Must gain knowledge of inspection and packaging equipment being utilized in the Cold End.
- Performance will be assessed and evaluated.
- Will assist other departmental employees.
- Will actively be involved in project work and process improvements.
- Must complete assignments in acceptable timeframes.
- Will ensure all preventive maintenance work orders are accomplished in a correct and timely manner.
- Perform parts storage.
- Maintain logs and records.
- Good coordination and dexterity.
- Will carry out GMS and 6S task.
- Must follow all departmental S.O.P’s and ISO Level III Work Instructions.
- Able to follow safety rules, good housekeeping practices and GMP’s
- Visual acuity of 20/30, far and near, with correction if necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's degree in relevant discipline
- two years of technical work experience
- Must pass Apprenticeship selection requirements.
