Job Description
Repair and maintenance of injection molds according to internal specifications to ensure injection molding production.
- Independently perform tool repair based on tool complaints according to specifications.
- Disassembly and assembly of injection molds
- Perform required skilled work at workbench (e.g., spotting, measuring, etc.).
- Entry of dimensional changes in drawings
- Check tools or components for wear, replace defective and worn parts, rework tools and molds if necessary.
- test repaired tools and molds according to specifications.
- Maintenance of the MES system after repair or maintenance.
- Inspect tools according to maintenance schedules, diagnose malfunctions if necessary, replace wear parts and operating materials
- 10 years in a role as a mold maker benching and fitting mold components together with in a mold base.
- 10 years or greater showing proficiency of working with the following equipment.
- Knee Mill
- Turret or manual lathe
- Surface grinder
- Radial arm drill press
- Tig welding of mold cavities
- 2 years of Laser welding ( Yag or flex weld repair application).
- Understanding of tool steels regarding working these steels .
- CNC VMC desirable
- CMM Desirable
- Working in a mold shop or tool shop making new cavities or details.
- Must have own measure tools.
- Programing experience of Master Cam desirable.
- Self-starter ( work from verbale directions and blueprints).
- Able to work off hours or off shifts.
- Ability to demonstrate an ability to perform trouble shooting and resolve issues from the manufacturing floor regarding failures.
- Desire to continue specific training to promote the growth of the model shop.
- Open and willing to mentor new team members.
