Gertens Family of Businesses is seeking a highly motivated and self-driven individual to join our team as an Outside Sales Manager for the Professional Turf team. This role involves overseeing the outside sales team, coordinating outbound orders, and managing the procurement of products to support both existing and prospective wholesale customers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the coordination of outbound orders with operations, dispatch, and customers.
- Mentor, train, and motivate the sales team on product knowledge, market competition, and responsive product positioning.
- Manage escalated customer concerns and provide timely resolutions.
- Provide coaching and professional development to sales team members to enhance their skills.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key personnel of current and potential customers.
- Coordinate the involvement of company resources, team members, and management when needed.
- Strategically source and purchase products, negotiate supplier agreements, forecast demand, and manage inventory levels.
- Evaluate supplier performance and analyze market trends to ensure optimal product availability and cost management.
- Assist with marketing strategies to drive business growth and increase sales.
- Attend company and department meetings and trainings as required.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Knowledge of turf, ornamental products, grass seed, disease identification, plant health, and site conditions for specific products.
- Associate degree in Horticulture or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of sales or field experience in a similar role.
- Excellent customer engagement and service skills are required.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear.
- Frequently required to use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally taste or smell.
- Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs frequently; occasional lifting of up to 65 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required for this job include color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
